It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
But that doesn't mean the fun and games have to stop! Accidents can happen anytime but are more likely when you are camping.
This is why you always need to have a complete first aid kit with you when camping. And more importantly, you need to stock the first aid kit with supplies you may need for camping related event.
This can include some things not typically found in your standard first aid kits.
While camping is typically dangerous, you are more likely to get an injury because you are doing a lot of tasks which you normally don’t do. Like chopping wood, or stoking a fire, or navigating tough terrain.
Injuries both small and large can happen to anyone.
These injuries include:
- Small cuts and scrapes
- Sprained ankles
- Major wounds, such as from serious falls
- Broken bones
- Insect bites
- Plant-based – Poison ivy, stinging nettles, plant
